Having mastered the art of frying fish, I thought why not explore other ways of preparing fish like grilling maybe. The thought of grilled fish made me want to satisfy my curiosity. At first, I was afraid that it wouldn’t turn out crunchy like how a fried one would, but to my surprise, no one could actually tell that it was not fried but grilled.
For this recipe, I used a cooked marinade, which would ordinarily act as the sauce, It is a very simple sauce to make you just need to have a blender at hand, blend your ingredients, and cook your sauce, apply this sauce to your raw fish marinate for 40 -50 minutes then grill. Easy peasy right….
Oven Grilled Tafi Fish
Let's prepare oven Grilled Tafi fish
Ingredients
Instructions
-
Wash, clean pat dry the fish, make slits on the fish, rub the fish with some salt and lemon juice, then apply the cooked marinade sauce rubbing gently and feeding into the slits.
-
Next marinate this for about an hour, prepare your grilling tools and bake in the oven for 30 minutes at 200 degrees. You can drizzle some oil on top before grilling.
-
Once ready serve hot with an accompaniment of choice. Gali, rice, fries, potatoes, some good vegetables or kachumbari salad.
Note
Drizzling oil on top makes the fish look as if it got fried. The grilling makes the fish moist, and flaky. A healthy option too. For grilling I usually put a foil on the oven pan, then place the grill on top of it, and then place the fish on top.
