I was never a fan of oats, maybe because it’s something I never ate while growing up but have come to appreciate it more as an adult. What I have not sampled yet, is the overnight-soaked oats which is next on my radar after having done these cooked porridges for a while. My kids however call this porridge “mummy’s porridge” and they wouldn’t even taste it they surely don’t know what they are missing Hopefully, as they grow older, they will appreciate it as I have come to. What I love most about this porridge is that it’s so filling and one would not need to add something else, especially if you take this as part of your morning meals and are mindful of your health. Hopefully, I will make time to try the overnight soaked oats meal with yoghurt and fruit and hopefully try the savoury oatmeal too. Seen a couple of these recipes for the savoury version which has eggs, mushrooms and vegetables.
